Shopping & Delivery Guidelines

Reliable, Local Delivery With Clear Communication and Temperature-Safe Handling

These guidelines explain how I shop, stage, and deliver Costco groceries. Everything you see here applies exclusively to Costco shopping, Costco fulfillment, and Costco delivery.

How I Shop at Costco

Co-Op-Shopper-Costco-grocer.jpg

All orders are sourced exclusively from Costco.

I shop your order exactly as submitted.
If Costco is out of stock:

  • I look for the closest same-brand, same-size match available at Costco

  • I avoid substitutions that increase your cost unless approved

  • I never substitute a different flavor, variety, bundle count, or brand without permission

If no suitable substitute exists at Costco, I simply mark the item as unavailable.

What I Will and Will Not Shop For

Clear guidelines so you know exactly what’s available, what’s excluded, and how to prepare your list.

What I Shop For

I focus on items that deliver well, stay fresh, and align with my Costco-based service. This helps keep orders accurate, fast, and within temperature-safe standards.

Eligible Items:

  • Costco grocery items

  • Refrigerated & frozen items

  • Costco pantry staples

  • Costco personal care items

  • Costco cleaning products

  • Costco pet supplies

  • Costco paper goods

  • Costco beverages

Note: I will always confirm your list before checkout to ensure accuracy and avoid food waste.

What I Do Not Shop For

Some categories are restricted either by Costco policy, Utah regulations, or delivery limitations. These exclusions protect you and keep the service reliable.

Not Eligible:

  • Alcohol (Utah restrictions)

  • Any store other than Costco

  • Pharmacy prescriptions (Costco policy)

  • Electronics, appliances, jewelry, or high-value non-grocery items

  • Large or oversized items requiring special transport

  • Hot foods (Costco café / food court items)

  • Returns or exchanges

  • Extremely custom or “hunt-down” items that slow down the shop or aren’t stocked regularly

Temperature Care and Cold-Chain Integrity

I maintain strict cold-chain discipline during all Costco shopping and staging:

  • Frozen and refrigerated items are shopped last

  • Orders travel quickly from checkout to controlled storage

  • All cold items remain in dedicated temperature zones

  • During delivery, cold items remain enclosed and handled first upon arrival

Your groceries stay at peak quality.

Communication Expectations

I communicate when needed, not constantly.

I contact you only when:

  • An item is out of stock at Costco

  • A substitution needs approval

  • An unexpected price variance is significant

  • A schedule or weather delay occurs

Your confirmation message includes the details you need without interruptions.

Delivery Guidelines

For home or business delivery:

  • You must be present unless prior arrangements are confirmed

  • Cold and frozen items cannot be left outside unattended

  • In heat or winter conditions, you must meet me promptly

Weather may impact timing:

  • Snow may delay delivery windows

  • Summer heat requires faster handoff

If conditions affect your order, I will notify you.
