Smart Portions begin with eligible Costco multipacks containing individually packaged units. Those units can then support practical customer purchase options without opening, altering, or repackaging the manufacturer's individual packages.
Eligible Multipacks
The Costco product must contain individual units that can appropriately be separated from the larger multipack while remaining in their original manufacturer packaging.
Factory-Sealed Units
Each qualifying individual unit remains unopened, unaltered, and factory sealed in the manufacturer's original packaging.
Flexible Purchase Options
Qualifying units can be organized into useful customer purchase quantities instead of requiring the customer to purchase the entire Costco multipack.
WHAT QUALIFIES FOR SMART PORTIONS?
Not Every Costco Multipack Is a Smart Portions Product.
A Costco product is appropriate for Smart Portions only when the qualifying individual units can remain intact in their original manufacturer packaging. Smart Portions are not created by opening bulk products and repackaging them into smaller containers.
Factory Sealed
Each individual unit remains completely unopened and factory sealed.
Original Packaging
The unit stays in the manufacturer's original individual package without being transferred to another bag, container, or wrapper.
Clearly Identifiable
Individual units should remain recognizable as the manufacturer's product, with appropriate product and package information.
No Repackaging
